TherapySebastian Fitzek was born in Berlin in 1971. A ‘deceptive tennis player, would-be rock star’ and almost-veterinarian, Fitzek attended law school, earning an LL.D. before deciding against a juridical profession in favour of a more creative occupation in the media.

After interning at a private radio station, he joined Berliner Rundfunk as head of entertainment and was soon promoted to editor in chief. Thereafter, he became an independent executive consultant and format developer for numerous media companies in Europe. He is currently working as head of programming at RTL, Berlin’s leading radio station.

Fitzek has authored seven crime novels, all of which have been bestsellers in Germany and internationally – The Eye Hunter, The Eye Collector, Splinter, The Soul-Breaker, The Child, Dialling Amok and Therapy, which was described by Publishers Weekly as having ‘Undertones of gothic suspense [imbuing] an unpredictable plot that will remind many of Shutter Island and A Beautiful Mind’.

He lives in Berlin.
