goldendates.engNoura Al-Khoori was born in 1982 and earned a degree in Environmental Sciences from the American University of Sharjah. She then worked as an Environmental Engineer at ZADCO for four years before becoming a writer. She continues to incorporate aspects of the natural environment and local culture into her work.

Al-Khoori’s first book, Fanteer the Fluffy Flamingo, was published by Kalimat in 2013. The popular children’s book follows a young flamingo that loses its way while visiting a mangrove with its parents. Her latest book is Golden Dates, published by HudHud Publishing in 2015.

She has also been involved in writing short stories for animated films and apps and is one of the scriptwriters for the Arabic version of Sesame Street, Iftah Ya Simsim, scheduled to be released in 2015.

Alongside writing and raising her four children, Al-Khoori does volunteer work with mothers and children in the community. Al-Khoori is also actively involved in holding events at schools and book fairs in the UAE.
