Lulwah Ahmed Al Mansouri is the author of The Last Women in Langa, longlisted for the 2013 Sheikh Zayed Book Award, and We Came from the Mountain’s Rib, winner of the 2014 Emirates Novel Award. We Came from the Mountain’s Rib is a fantasy novel about mysterious phenomena on Jees Mountain.
Al Mansouri is an Emirati journalist from Ras Al Khaimah, with a bachelor’s degree in Arabic Language and a diploma in Media Studies. She is a member of the Emirates Writers’ Union and Emirates Women Writers’ Union.
In addition to her novels, she is also the author of the short story collections Tomb Under My Head (winner of the 2014 Sharjah Prize for Arabic Creativity) and The Village That Sleeps in My Pocket (winner of the Dubai Cultural Prize), and the poetry collections The Fog Walkway and Virgin Spaces. She was nominated to take part in the Nadwa, a writers’ workshop for aspiring writers from around the Arab world held by the International Prize for Arabic Fiction.
