winnie-the-witchKorky Paul was born in Zimbabwe and studied Fine Arts at Durban Art School, South Africa, and Animation at CalArts, California.

Paul is a much-loved, award-winning illustrator of children’s books, most notably the Winnie The Witchseries for Oxford University Press, which has been published in over 30 languages and sold seven million copies worldwide. Winnie The Witch is soon to be adapted as a television series called Winnie and Wilbur on Channel 5 UK. He has illustrated several other successful books for Penguin, (including the popular Sir Scallywag series), Random House and Frances Lincoln.

Winnie The Witch won the Children’s Book Award in 1987 and Paul has also won Supporter of the Year for Summertown Stars Boys’ Football Club.

Known only to himself as the ‘World’s Greatest Portrait Artist – and Dinosaur Drawer’, Paul regularly visits schools promoting his passion for drawing. He is one of the 20% hard-core elite still scribbling with Pen ‘n Ink on Paper.

He is a patron of The Art Room, a charity aimed at children experiencing behavioural difficulties, to help raise their self-esteem through art.

Paul now lives in Oxford, England.
