Dr. Hessa Abdullah Lootah is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Literature Foundation. Considered the first lady of Mass Communication in the UAE, Dr. Lootah has had vast experience in the world of media and communications.
During her long and varied career, she has served as head of department of Mass Communications at the UAE University and has held positions in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, in addition to sitting on the board of the UAE National Media Council and Arab Journalism Awards 2010.
Dr. Lootah has produced several television programmes including TV Magazine, Gulls on the Shores of the Gulf and Cinema Show. She has also published media-specific studies and research in both Arabic and English.
Dr. Lootah is the recipient of several awards including the Taryam Omran Award for Best Article and the Rashid bin Humaid Award for community service. She holds a doctorate from the University of Ohio in the US, a Master’s in Arts from the School of International Studies in Ohio, and a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
