Born of Afro-Caribbean descent, Christine-Jean Blain is a storyteller. Whether writing poetry, prose or fiction, she uses words to paint pictures of how things are, once were or maybe one day could be. Much of her work is influenced by culture; the one she inherited as well as the one she creates daily.
Blain is the author of Lighting the Path Back Home a short collection of poetry and prose. She is a former Writer in Residence at Hedgebrook and a founding member of Dusks Daughters arts collective. Her writing can be found in publications such as African Voices, Afros: Celebration of Natural Beauty and A Lime Jewel.
